Are you an incoming freshman or transfer student?
A few questions CCM often receives:
Who can participate in Catholic Campus Ministry? Is it exclusive?
The CNU community, friends, and family can participate as much as they would like. CCM does not limit in any way who attends and participates in the activities offered. In fact, we invite you to bring your non-Catholic friends to Mass, a Catheletics game, volunteer work, and retreats! The CNU community, friends, and family
If I have a question, who should I contact?
You can always contact John (our campus minister) or any of our leadership team with questions! Just click the Leadership Team link and you can submit your question to the person you feel could best help or scroll until you find Murph's bio for her contact information. When in doubt, contact Murph or the Student Campus Minister, Marissa.
When is the first on-campus Mass?
For full details on the Mass schedule, location, and times you can always click the Mass tab at the top of the page. Dates and times for the first Mass of the 2012-13 academic year have not been finalized.
What if I would like to attend Mass off campus?
There are many Catholic churches in the area. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is right down the road. If transportation is a problem, there are often other CCMers attending these masses who would love to offer a ride. For information and websites for local churches please visit the Mass tab.
Is Confession available on campus?
Confession can be said before or after Mass on campus. It is also available on most of the retreats offered and carpools are arranged periodically throughout the year for students who would like to attend but do not have a vehicle.
What types of activities are offered for freshman?
One of the first opportunities you will have (in addition to celebrating Mass) is going on Viaticus, a weekend-long retreat in the Outer Banks, specifically designed to help make friends and build your faith on campus. Please visit the Retreats tab to learn details and how to sign up for this awesome weekend!
What can I do to grow my faith on campus?
Take full advantage of everything CCM has to offer from retreats to community dinner to catheletics to Mass. The Grow Your Faith, Retreats, Fellowship, and Justice tabs can offer initial guidance. Also, Murph and upperclassmen are always available to talk if you find yourself struggling. Please use us as a resource. We are here for you!
Will a member of CCM be available to chat during any of the orientation sessions for freshman?
Yes! Kelly Willett will be a facilitator for both weeks of the Summer Leadership Adventure Program, and Mary Ragan will also be at orientation as a student director. While they will both be busy making orientation a wonderful experience for all of our incoming freshman, they would love to spend time talking to anyone interested in CCM. Please send them an email prior to orientation, if you would like to set up a time to meet with either Kelly or Mary. We realize, however, that orientation is an extremely busy couple of days and it may not be possible to make time to meet, but CCM would still love to get to know you. The first scheduled time to hang out with CCMers is the club fair during welcome week, but if you would like to meet with someone at an earlier time we'd love to try to make that happen for you. Since most upper-classmen are home for the summer please contact us in advance of your trip to CNU and we'll do our best to find a person or two who can talk for a while. Visit the Leadership Team page and fill out the drop box for "Kelly" (web minister) if you would be interested!
I would like to join the CCM Choir; who should I talk to about that?
As always, most questions can be answered at the Leadership Team tab. Megan, our music minister, would be happy to tell you the details about practice times or visit the Grow Your Faith tab.
